The TPS82140 is a 17V input, 2A step-down converter MicroSiP™ power module optimized for small solution size and high efficiency. The module integrates a synchronous buck converter and inductor to simplify design, reduce external component count, and save printed circuit board (PCB) area. The device is housed in a compact, low profile package suitable for automated assembly by standard surface mount equipment.

To maximize efficiency, the converter operates in pulse-width modulation (PWM) mode with a nominal switching frequency of 2.0MHz and automatically enters a power-saving mode of operation at light load currents. In power-saving mode, the device has a typical quiescent operating current of 20µA. With the DCS-Control™ topology, the device achieves excellent load transient performance and accurate output regulation.
