At the third annual Intel Innovation Event, Intel unveiled a series of technologies aimed at applying artificial intelligence to various domains, from the cloud to networks, from edge computing to consumer clients, providing Intel's accelerators for a variety of workloads and application scenarios.
Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger stated, "Artificial intelligence represents a generational shift, ushering in a new era of global development in which computing is the foundation for a better future for humanity. AI is full of limitless possibilities, offering significant societal and business opportunities for developers while also creating new solutions for major challenges worldwide, benefiting everyone on Earth.
In his opening keynote address at the developer-focused event, Gelsinger showcased how Intel is incorporating AI capabilities into its hardware products and making them accessible through open, multi-architecture software solutions. He also emphasized how AI is driving the 'chip economy,' a continuously growing economy achieved through chips and software. Currently, the total value of the global chip industry is $574 billion, with the technology economy it drives estimated to be worth around $8 trillion.
